About CRLL

Carleton Russell Little League is a non-profit organization and formed by four local baseball associations located to the southeast of Ottawa:

  • Greely Hawks Baseball,
  • Russel Minor Baseball Association,
  • Embrun Minor Baseball Association, and
  • Les Voltigeurs de Casselman.

CRLL is charter member league of Little League International, through Little League Canada, dedicated to providing our youth an opportunity to play baseball in a positive constructive environment within the Eastern Ontario communities of:

Osgoode · Vernon · Manotick · Greely · Metcalfe · Marionville · Russell · Vars · Embrun · Limoges · Forest Park · Casselman · St. Albert

Our Mission

Carleton Russell Little League is a non-profit organization to help and voluntarily assist young boys and girls in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork, and physical well-being through the medium of baseball with guidance and exemplary leadership from our community volunteers.

By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Carleton Russell Little League program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

Sense of Community

The Little League philosophy is based on building a strong sense of community and bringing kids out to play baseball in their local parks. Being a rural league, our local associations try to extend their reach out into our local communities, often sponsored by local firms and businesses and supported by great fans and families, to create that strong sense of community across the league.

Skills Development, Recreational & Competitive Baseball

During the spring, all of our Little League teams are focused on recreational house league play between our four local associations. Dependent on the number of teams across the league we either offer a single pool of play at each division or, if blessed with sufficient teams, we seek to establish two tiers of play to allow the more advanced players to play at a higher more consistent level. No matter the tier of play, the focus of our spring house league remains on player development. More information on our spring program can be found on our Spring Program page.

During the summer season, dependent upon registration numbers, we offer various levels of developmental and competitive league play. We strive to roster a Carleton Russell Aces all-star tournament team at each division of play. The Aces all-star tournament teams are formed via tryouts and allow our strongest players to compete against the best players of other Little Leagues across Ottawa as well as representing CRLL at district, provincial and national Little League tournaments. When blessed with sufficient players we strive to offer ongoing developmental play at each division by rostering additional CRLL Aces teams at the lower level tiers of the Ottawa Interlock League. These teams compete against other Little League teams from the Ottawa area at a level of play consistent with each other's abilities allowing everyone to focus on player development. More information on our summer program can be found on our Summer Program page.
