CRLL Challenger Baseball

Challenger Baseball

Challenger Baseball is a program that provides an opportunity for children with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participation in baseball at a level structured to their abilities.

Baseball games are played in a fun, safe environment where no score is kept. Able-bodied "Buddies" are assigned (one on one, where possible) to each participant. These Buddies assist the Challenger players with their involvement in the game. Pushing wheelchairs around the base path, assisting players in how to hold the bat and swing, or providing protection for the Challenger player from a batted ball, are just a few of the ways the Buddies offer a better experience for the participants in Challenger Baseball.

Challenger Baseball within CRLL is offered and operated by Russell Minor Baseball Association (RMBA). Please see our Challenger Page for more information

For more information about the Challenger program in Canada please see Challenger

Greater Ottawa 19U Baseball League

Greater Ottawa 19U Baseball League

Since the demise of "Big League" at the end of the 2015 Season, Little League no longer runs a program for our players once they graduate from the Little Leagu Senior Division.
However, the Ottawa area local Little Leagues worked together to create a recreational baseball league offered to players between 17 and 19 years old. The inaugural 2017 season saw 6 teams form what was then known as the "Alumni League" The teams involved came from South Ottawa, Carleton Russell, Mississippi, East Nepean (2 teams), and Ottawa West.

Building on the lessons from the 2017 season the local leagues in Ottawa are continuing to support our older youth by supporting what is now known as the "Greater Ottawa 19U Baseball League"

Welcome to our new website

The CRLL Executive Board is pleased to announce that our new website is now live!

We wanted to develope a new website in order to better communicate with our families and to allow for a more efficient online registration process. We have chosen to partner with Blue Star Sports who will provide us with both an amazing website but also an outstanding league management system that allows us to get you news, information, schedules, rosters, game results, directions and much much more.

Along with the website the new system provides us with an excellent team communication app "Team Connect" that will help our coaches and players alike to keep everyone up to date on game and practice schedules.

Please note that this is only the first stage of the launch of the new, and work will continue to improve and develop our new site. Many pages remain to be completed and others are only partially constructed so please be patient with us. For now, our priority is to get the registration process underway.

Lastly, please note that the majority of the early site development has been done in English to allow for an immediate quality check and evaluation to take place. With this in mind we have built in a Google Translate capability so users can select thier preferred language, English or French. Google Translate provides a capability for users to assist us in improving the quality of our French and English translations so as we move forward our site will improve in its appearance in both languages if everyone helps out.

Check back frequently for the latest information about our league. And don't be shy, we welcome your feedback about the site and the league at any time.

Let's make this another great baseball year…

Steve Roberts, President CRLL
